subs shutting off

Heres the deal: I am running 2 12" Kicker Comp CVR's powered by a Kenwood KAC 9152D amplifier (450x2 @2ohms). and a shitty sony F5700 HU ( it is being replaced with an Alpine 9815 in 2 days). When I crank my subs, sometimes they will just shut off. But when i turn the volume back down, they will start hitting again. I am currently running 4Ga throughout the car and i have a 1.5 Farad Cap. I have NOT done the BIG 3 yet cause I am not clear on what to do exactly.

Could someone please explain what is causing this?

And could someone please give me a more detailed explanation of how to setup the BIG 3, it would be appreciated??

I have an upgraded battery that has 750 cranking amps, and a new alternator (not sure on amps)

Would bigger power wire do the trick? or is something else wrong? Everything sounds fine when i crank it but when i really start pushin it they shut off and when i turn the volume back down they start hitting again. What could be the problem?

Check the voltage with a DMM @ the amp. If it drops remove the cap and see if that helps.

x2... I would say it's most likely the grounds as well. If you're also seeing a lot of dimming before the subs cut out, then I would say that it is a power delivery issue.

I think it is my power, becuase when i am sitting in traffic in the school parking lot it shuts of and turns back on in 3 seconds. But when I am driving it is fine, i just went out for a drive to try to find what the problem was.

sounds like a lack of voltage issue, or too small of power wire/ground

I was having this same problem. Exact same things were happening to me as well. I have heard NUMEROUS times that those kenwood amps aren't really 1 ohm stable although they state that. My amp wasn't one ohm stable either, which is why it heated up and would go into protection mode.
