Hello every one, Was wondering if some of you may be kind to give me some input. For a while i was just running a pair of W3's hook up to a PDX amp. I then installed a 4 channel to my doors and i significantly lost out put in my subs. Any ideas?

You either have a problem supplying enough current to the amps.Or your mids/highs are just keeping up with the bass now and it just seems quieter.
yeah, are you sure it isn't as loud. I remember upgrading to good comps and my subs sounded weaker

how much power were you giving the w3's, are they the v2 or v3? What were your settings on the amp?
They were getting about 350 both, and they were W3's the amp was set about half on gain. but after the other amp i had to max the gain out and its not even loud like it use to be.

I have a feeling it may be the pre-outs arnt high enough now.

I actually hooked the subs up to a amp that is more RMS and the subs were virtually the same.

wow, i am having that exact same problem. It was like one day you just lost half of your output and you can't find any decent reason why? Assuming your subs aren't blown, i would still push on the cone, jl subs are easy to tell if there is rubbing. Do you have another amp to test them on?

What kind of head unit? Does it have preouts for Front, Rear, and Sub..if so, do you have them hooked up to the right inputs for your amps?

Do you have a High Pass x-over for the door speakers?

Nope not blown, that was my first thought.

i would honestly try real hard to feel for rubbing, it can sometimes only be in a certain spot and may be hard to feel right away. Go to your car and turn the bass up and give it a clean signal and put your ear against the sub and see if you hear popping, if you do it could easily be a bad amp or subs.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am sure the subs are fine, also placed another sub in the truck, and same issue... no bass... well very little

i'm telling you, it is worth a try. i though the same thing and noticed my insulation was burned on my voice coils causing a short. It could be your head unit as well.

How much output have you lost roughly?
