Subs for the box

I recently acquired a new box for 2 12s ported. It is 36in length by 14.5in in height and 21 I'm in depth. With a port of 6 in wide by 13in tall. It's built using 3/4 in mdf. What would be the best subs to but in the box that can handle around 1000w rms. Subs will be running off a crescendo bc2000d.

How long is the port inside do you know? Are you going for more SQ or SPL? what's your budget for the subs? What car will this be in? and lastly do you have the electrical to run that amount of power?

It's going in a 2010 chevy cobalt upgrading to alt to 180 from 130 in a bit adding second agm battery. Budget is 250 per sub. Box is sealed off from the trunk facing engine. Port wall length is 14.2 5 in. Not going die numbers but want it be to be loud as possible

you gotta clarify that number man. A better way to measure is straight down the center of the port and see how long it is. Do the same with the L bend and add them up, you'll get the proper port length.

is it 14.2 plus 5 inches after the bend or is it 14.25?

if its 14.25, then the box is a super spl box....

if its 14 inch for the first port wall with a 5 inch second(L bend) wall, you should be around 30-32 inches in port length, landing you around 40 hz tuning, around 3.2 cubic feet net. With those specs, i'd say grab a pair of soundqubed hds312s or a pair of sundown sa 12s.

then again, i'll need the proper port length for an accurate number. So far its just 13 inch height, 6 inch width(hella huge port width) and unknown port length.

Well if you wanted loud as possible, you should go with a 4th order bandpass blow through. Since you already got your box then might as well use it and seal off the box from the trunk for the best results. Use a lot of sound deadening all over to also increase some more SPL.

American Bass XFL's

Sundown SA-12's

SSA Gcon's

I would say the SoundQubed HDS312 but they love huge enclosures though.

That's all I can think of for the budget.

Nope, probably not. Will have to use up your entire trunk most likely and even then there's a chance it might not fit. I would ask a box builder to see if its possible. If your box is indeed tuned that super high, it will sound like crap and will be hella peaky up top. It will yield more spl but at the cost of low end extension. I don't see the point unless you're competing or want to **** everyone off in your neighborhood.
