Subs facing up?

I am going to start building a sealed box today for 2 15" Orion H2's. I'm also going to cut a port in the rear deck and put a piece of pvc in there to allow the bass into the cabin. Would it be better to have the subs facing up, firing into that port, or firing back towards the tail lights? Btw it's a 95 Chevy Impala SS. Thanks!

i have my 2 12' subs firing frontwards into the car and 2 4" ports firing up and it gets loud, i want to port through the rear deck 1 day, i think it would make things better, and thats in a mazda 626

Try moving/turning the box and see what sounds best. That is the only way to know for sure.

just make sure that the subs arent "unloading" into the ports themselves as you would lose alot of output

No fold down back seats...just thick leather and metal that blocks all the bass...

What do you mean? How can I prevent this?

Alright that was my original question, altough I don't understand how I could lose output that way?

basically lets say you have your port directly behind the sub in the box. so when the sub moves in and out it basically is pushing right into the port, not good.

you want the port to do all the work not your subs. thats what im talking about

you would lose output because the your not utilizing the size of your box and forcing the sub to do all the work.

Sorry, still don't think I'm understanding. You do understand that I'm talking about a completely sealed box, right? The port would be in my rear deck, between a pair of components.

One more question I forgot to ask...is it necessary to have a "wall" separating the two subs in a sealed box, like most pre-fab boxes have?

Yes is better to have the wall between each sub...

Each sub would have it's own chamber in case 1 burns it will stop playing and if they both share the same chamber you won't be able to tell because it will still move..
