Subs Compared

Hello guys. I've been told that the subs I was gonna be lookin at 13w7's is a nono b/c of midbass quality? hmm I thought it was just strictly bass for those subs lol but i've just heard them in a store not in a car just yet. As a matter of fact, no one has bought one to this date but I plan to be the first maybe if u all work with me here. The Amp that I will be running is the JL Audio 500/1. Which two subs would work the best with this amp? I would like to have high SPL level subs like in the 90-100 DB range of spl.

13w7s - JL Audio - 13 1/2 Inch = $1000

4000w 15" - MTX = $1000

15" - Brahamas $xxxx ?

1000w 12" - Blueprints = $219 a piece

Any suggestions for any other name brands up to a 1000 bucks that will handle nicely with the 500/1 JL Audio amp? I'm plannin on runnin two subs eventually off this amp. But for now I just gonna buy one sub at a time. Also anyone know the price range (retail) for the Brahamas are?

Also remember ANY suggestions ANY Namebrands but not the cheapo's =-D

blueprints or maybe the brahmas, personnally i dont have enough for he brahmas so id get the bp's and save some money, but brahmas rock, and so do the shivas!

No one is givin me any input on the JL w7s though lol I wanna know about them subs as well ^_^ u guys keep tellin me the same things... but is that all there is too choose from? IDMax BluePrints Adire and Brahmas... What about them MTX 4000w subs i like them =x and will my amp be stable to push two of these subs or just one?

i was going to buy a 12w7 but then i changed my mind and got a brahma 15. every single person that i know has said the brahma beats the w7 in both SPL and SQ and is $100 cheaper or more!! Getting the w7 would make no sense at all...even though I admit the w7 does look sweet as hell. But looks are nothing.

oh yea one other thing b4 i watch this movie

I want these subs to be playable for everyday use not just for competition

i might go into that later on but doubtful my new job is workin me like 60-70 hours a week

I just wanna know if they will handle everyday use which ones will and which ones won't. i've heard the w7s are for just competitions and would be really hard on my altima if I used it for everyday use.

That narrows it down...Brahma or IDMax and I'd say Image Dynamics!!!

The W7's are not just for competition use (if that were the case then I doubt anyone would buy them!) nor are the other subwoofers mentioned, save the RFL. The W7 was not suggested due to it's price for the performance you get. It's low frequency extension is quite good, although it is lacking sonically in the midbass area. The IDMax is musicaly the best subwoofer of those you mentioned, with the Brahma having the best low end. It simply depends on your tastes.

In laymens terms...what do you want...SPL or SQ more...with either sub you will get a good mix of both, with the Brahma more SPL, with the IDMax better SQ...as Mark said, it's all in your taste...

the rfl isnt a daily driver sub at all.. it excells at burps thats it so if thats what u wanna do get it if you wanna play music get another

just cause "jl" says its the best dont mean squat many people like them dont get me wrong its a great speaker the whole line is but with others avalible why limit yourself? you thought the blueprint was bad cause it isnt 600 bucks the costs in audio would suprise you but i wont get into that (i used to rep and distribute) reputation is a strong thing advertising is another ........
