Subs can't reach full potential

My Fubars hit pretty hard but I'm limited to the volume. If I go over 25 on my Kenwood, the interior speakers will distort but the sub has plently more power to put out. Obviously I need a HU with sub-control. My other issuse is pre amp voltage. Should I get a line driver to get the most voltage I can or is it not worth it?

sorry if you guys think I'm retarded, but the gain is set and what I meant was the amp has more power to give. I just got a new HU today with sub control. So I'm fine in that department but do you think a line drive is a good idea?

had it on 30/40 but now i don't have to worry due to the fact I screwed up my box. I'm making a new one. Still waiting for the response on the Line dirver

You shouldnt need one, but I did, I used an old coustic crossover and had to max the gain on the amp and crossover to get it to pound. It was an old kenwood stereo amp and a alpine 9856 with 2v pre outs. My new setup doesnt need it. Make shure you know what your dooing or something could blow!
