Subs and loss of hearing

Have your car metered at a local shop at a couple different volume levels. According to the EPA anything above 100db can cause permanent damage when you are exposed to it for a prolonged period of time. You'll most likely not get farther then opinion from asking a question with specifics that vague on an online forum, but if you have concrete numbers you'll know for sure.

Well if your thinking of losing your hearing at 140 rms then you must have sensitive hearing and yes you should take it out of your car. I will take your Type R off your hands. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have had multiple setups over the years. and in the past 3 years the quietest I have had was 2 Solobaric S12D's in 1cube sealed each with 1000wrms to them. Since I have had a 12XXX 3 cubes ported to 28hz with 1500wrms, Orion 15H2 2.5 cubes sealed with 1500wrms, ED12A 1cube sealed 1000wrms and 2.5 cubes ported @ 30hz with 1000wrms, And a JL 13W7 in 2.5 cubes ported @ 30hz with around 1000-1200wrms. I have to get a hearing test every year for work. Not only has my hearing been above average every year it has also shown no loss in the past 4 years. I have had multiple other setups before the ones listed but these were the loudest. I don't know but it doesnt seem to affect my hearing...

get some ear plugs foo.

I would say: "Dad look. I really like the bangin bass but I understand your concern for my hearing. So Lets meet halfway. I'll use ear buds while bumpin. This way I still get the bangin bass but my ears aren't taking any damage."

then just put them in when your pulling into or leaving the driveway. Remove as soon as possible.

everybody is happy.

I thought my system had caused a constant ringing and pressure in my left ear..Thought I was losing my hearing in that ear also.. Went to one doctor who told me I had a little infection in the ear and he gave me some antibiotics.. Didnt clear it all up.. Went to an ear doctor yesterday, and found out i have TMJ which is causing the ringing and pressure feeling in my left ear.. They did a hearing test and I have great hearing still! Yay for me!!!
