Subs about a week old..now louder

I got a pair of Treo SS 12's installed the beginning of the week. I have them running off of a Memphis belle. After about a day or two of playing with the crossovr and EQ I finally go the system sounding really good.

Last night on the way home from work I noticed that my subs got a little loud with out me changing anything. Maybe the speakers are broken in or something? When the subs got hooked up I didn't take the time to break them in I just started pushing thme hard, I have owned several subs over the years and never ahd to break them in. Some people feel they have to but not me.

Anyways, the system sounds great..

probably they got broken in a bit. or maybe u changed some settings on ur HU without noticing? i guess what break-in is, is loosening up the subs suspension for more excursion. So yeah that could be it. Glad ur happy with em.

As I said I'm running the pair off a Memphis Belle MC1300D, 1000x1 rms at 1 ohm. The Treo SS 12's are dual 4 ohms rated at 500rms. The are in a ported box tuned at 38htz. The rest of my system consist of boston acoutics 6.5in comps, 4x6 plates in the dash and 6x9's in the rear deck all in a caddy deville. The trunk equipped with 50 ft of second skin. Alpine 7897 for a HU.

As far as the electric system I running a Yellow top optima under the hood and a batcap in the trunk, 2 guage power wire to the batcap and 4 gauge to the amp. ) gauge ground. With the system wide open I'm at 13.4-13.7 volts, so I guess the batcap is working. With the system off I at 14-2-14.3 volts.

After playing the system for a while I got the highs and mids just where I what it, clean and crisp, no distortion.

As far as the lows, all I can say is it is loud as hell, the bass sound great. It is also very accurate considering it is a ported box. In the pass all I would run is sealed boxes. The only problem I'm trying to work out is the lower bass notes. It's not as low as I like. My old system, 2 HX2 15's in a sealed box with only 600w rms total hit lower. One of my favorite songs to test low bass is Tela-Shonuff. That song will give the woofer a workout. Also 36 maifa-late night tip.

Overall I'm very pleased with the Treo Subs and would reccommed them to anyone.

Can you think of anything else you don't like about them thus far, other than that they aren't hitting the lows as you would like them (which could be fixed I'm sure) ?

Might have to check them out ... maybe even an SSX.

As of right now no.

The are really impressive, very loud and clean bass. They don't sound muddy and boomy like others I owned. I can't believe how accurate they considering that they are in a ported box. Like I said, I the past all I deal with is sealed boxes.

The first couple of days I was listening to alot of rap, Lil John, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Nas. The subs met the challange with no probs. I really pushed them hard right from day one.

Today I gave them another test. I popped in some rock. I went with Metalica, Korn, and Blink 182. The subs kick a**.

Korn the follow the leader album, one of my all time favorites, has incredible bass with good mids and highs. It is a good album to test your entire system. Needless to say the whole system performed well.

My mids and highs will give you a nose bleed!!!!!
