Sub To Amp Wiring

so what kind of wiring do you use to wire the sub's to your amp?

is it speaker wire?

last install was done by a "professional" and i want to do this one myself

if it is speaker wire, what guage should i use? its two 12" type R's going to be getting 400rms each

at least 16 ga speaker wire.

i did 8 ga from my amp to my hdc315s 12 ga lol thats hot! Wirenuts ftw!
