Sub recommendations please

Greetings, I am new to the site and while browsing I am convinced that the people who comment, recommend or just give feedback on a broad range of subjects actually know what they are talking about which is refreshing considering the amount of bs thrown around by wannabe experts. Anyways I have a 2008 Bmw 535i, I am considering adding a subwoofer and I would like some recommendations and/or advice. Now I am no stranger to putting in a high quality system in my previous vehicles, but from what I have heard from a few people is adding a subwoofer to a Bmw is limited such as putting a box in the trunk will not work very well due to a plate in the back and the trunk is very well sealed. It can be done but its not worth the hassle because you lose so much sound. So that leaves the option of using a low profile set up for under the front seat. I ask what manufacturers would work the best for the price, what size, should I go with and should I go with 1 or a 2 speaker set up. I dont mind paying the price but I expect the performance. Thank you everyone for any help or advice that you can give.

I'm not familiar with that car but does it have a ski pass hole? You could always build a 4th order bandpass and port through the ski pass.
