Sub enclosure lighting

There are control modules for ~30 bucks @ some auto part stores. They work off of either vibrations or a mic depending on model.

I have one i no longer use that has a sensitivity control, on/off, and lights "on" or lights "music" option. You can hook up whatever lights you want to it. I had 8 LED's on it til i got tired of blue everywhere. The module wires to your batt, and ground. easy peazy. Its yours for shipping costs +2 bucks for gas to post office haha.

Or you can get a new one, or try a more high tech approach. Its solid black w/ a sensitivity meter that shows green-orange-red. Pretty common @ Advanced Auto Parts i believe.

That's what I was originally thinking (with maybe needing additional resistance), but I was talking to someone who typically knows more about electronics than me and they said I'd run into problems with them always being lit up due to frequencies that the lights would respond to and the subs wouldn't.

If you've done that yourself, I'll just go that route. Did you need to put any resistors in line before the LEDs or anything?

Maybe. I'm doing this partly as a design project. I'm incorporating other elements like frosted and etched glass that will interact with the lighting. If I were just doing flashing lights and just doing it for my own pleasure, it wouldn't be worth the time or money to me.
