Sub Direction?

depends on the car, box, sub ect. ect.

from my experiance my systems have always hit harder and deeper when aimed to the rear because it loads on your back end

kinda like, in a house your powered subwoofer hits harder when its facing the corner of a room

 
To many variables to be able to tell you. Each vehicle can sound different with different placing of the box.

In most cases, facing the rear of the vehicle will yield more output. But this is not always the case...
