sub direction- 2 back and 1 forward?

I think I can picture what you're saying but I'm not really sure.

Post up a sketch so we can better assist you man.

But if it's what I'm thinking then it won't make a difference in sound quality.

i am thinking about just a normal sealed bow, with two of the subs facing toward the trunk(rearfiring?,i think this is how most have it),and one subs facing toward the front of the car(firing toward the backseat). At work so dont have time to make a sketch.how this helps

Having them face different ways just opens up more opportunities to cancel eachother out in most cases, there's a good chance you'll have at least slightly reduced output, but in general sq shouldn't be affected much. Eitherway, better off all facing the same way, you won't know the acoustics of your car until you try it

I was thinking the same aswell.

Cancellation could come into a factor.. all depending on your box shape and how that affects the waveforms. Output could be slightly down.. or not at all, who knows.

But to answer your question, it may sound slightly different, yes... but nothing major.

two werent getting loud enough for me. i have them sealed now,and am in the process of building a ported box to see how they sound. if i still want more bass, i already have a 500/1 amp, so i was just going to get another sub.i am just trying to get ideas, so i can start designing my trunk if i dont like the ported box

In a [relatively] low powered SQ or SQL setup, it won't make a difference... as long as the woofers are wired in phase, and all are mounted within 1/4 wavelength [of the highest frq. produced by the subs] of each other.

If your goal is maxin out teh deebeeeez, then you may want to rethink a few things... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i know the w6 is more sq, but i am really liking the sound. Plus i just bought them and really dont want to sell them. I am very happy with them, just want a lil more bass. and figured adding one more since i already have an amp would be better than selling both subs and amps, and getting something more powerful

It sounds like it would work just fine in your situation... it's when you start dealing with the extreme pressures of an SPL setup that you need to rethink things like drivers mounted on different sides of enclosures. But with 500W, you don't need to worry about that...
