Sub box tuning questions

Hello there , newbie here got a few questions about port tuning please !
Let said I got a 4 cubic ft box with a wall between it so it’s 2 cubic ft each with each own 4 inch Aeroport 4x12 =33 hertz , so what if I remove the the middle wall and keep the ports the same , will that change the frequency response ? I try to look it up on 12volt and it show 4 cubic ft box with One 4 inch port are only 4.6 inch ? Please help, Thanks

Nothing will change when you remove the center piece that divides each chamber. To calculate multiple ports you divide the airspace that the subs share by the number of ports you are using. Then you use that number as your volume to calculate. So you are back where you started with 1 4 inch port per 2cf.

If you want to be exact and split hairs, the volume of the box will grow by the displacement of the board you are removing which is probably around .1cf. This would lower tuning by a tenth of a hz or so, which is a negligible amount that is inaudible.
