Sub and port firing options.

So I've pretty much decided on what sub I am going with so now I am trying to come up with box designs. I have a Lexus IS300 and there is a "ski pass" from the trunk to the cabin. I have seen a few builds with the sub firing into the cabin through this pass like this...

I was considering this configuration but have a feeling that a rear fire set-up would sound better. Opinions? Obviously I won't be using that sub. How about having the ports firing into the cabin? Or both firing rearward?

Going for a solid mix of SPL and SQ.

I think using that skipass would sound good if you had the port of a bandpass coming through there. Or you could do a slot port box and have the port come through there and the subs face ths sides. How many subs do you have...

+1 on the bandpass into the skiport, if can build to seal nicely into the ski port, that should bump pretty well.

DD 2510 is the leading candidate right now. Cadence a7hc (1000w@1ohm?). I want a mix of SPL and SQ.

I would go with a 4th order with the port through the ski hole personally.

Ok, a 4th order is a BP, right? I tried to use some box calculators to see about what size box I would need but I can't find all of the necessary specs. DD's site only has the "Q's" and Vas. I am assuming it'll be ~ 1.5cf, but from what I understand, just getting it "close" isn't going to get it done with a BP box.
