Stupid question

I got a Kenwood KAC9105D mono amp, powering a single 12 Pioneer W3002D2 1000 rms sub. My question is my low pass filter on the amp starts at 50 hz does that mean it won't play notes below 50 hz. Also it has no subsonic filter. My ported box is 2 cubic feet tuned to 35 hz. Slams hard, but im thinking of upgrading my amp to a Pioneer one that puts out 1200 rms at 1 ohm and the lpf starts at 40 hz.

the low pass filter filters whats above your set point, not whats below it

Yea im running a custom ported box made for the sub, if i set it at 25 hz does that mean it won't play notes below 25 hz?
that's were you want to have it set to protect your sub. below the tuning frequency of your box the sub has little cone control and you risk mechanical damage
