stupid question from a noob:(

are you seeing them from all angles around the TV?

sounds like your input is screwy. are you using component cables or HDMI? check all your connections and make sure they are all in the right area, and connected firmly. also, are you going through any adapters (HDMI to component, component to HDMI, S-video to HDMI/Component, etc)

unfortunatly, it sounds like something in your TV input is not right, how old is the TV? if the answer is 3-5 years old, its probably time for a new tv, which is one of the joys of buying a plasma.

yeah.. i think it is areound 3 yrs old:( ah well.. time to upgrade anyways:) thanks for the help, and any more help givin..

sounds like a board problem, no offense but your first mistake was to buy Vizio. THere moto is "best flat panels built in America" they forget to mention they are the only flat panels built here to. I can't be a hundred percent sure without see the tv if it is the board or not but you kinda have two options pay the otrageous bill to get it serviced or sell it on ebay for parts and buy a new one. I worked at Sears as a lead manager for two years so I saw most any problem that was possible to flat panels.

I guess there is one other option, become god friends with a service tech like I am, lol.

Sorry to hear that though, its a ***** when that happenes

i dont know about that for sure, but plasmas have a pretty short life span in general, especially due to the heat they create.
they are getting better, but still a fairly unstable technology IMO.
Sorry but I gotta call you out on this one. Most any plasma now aday has a 50,000 hour life on it. That means you could watch tv 5-6 hours a day and the tv should last anywhere from 24-27 years until it reaches its half life. SO as far as the actual display being shortlifed I doubt that is the issue. The boards and inputs are sensetive though and do need to be taken care of.

This is not any more true that saying LCD is a fairly unstable technology... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

well then, if the boards and what not are still sensitive, and plasmas are putting off alot of heat, then they are still succeptible to failure quite easily, right? i wasnt just claiming the screens as the main source of failure.

all information i have has been from first hand experience, replacing plasmas that have failed. and all i have replaced have been no more than 5-6 years old //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif . most younger.

to both of you, i have no doubt that the technology has been improving and they are getting better. but i would still never buy a plasma TV due to a few reasons. their cost in general, the cost to get a better display is a great deal more than other forms of display, the reliability issues due to the heat and the type of display, and the fact that i have never seen a plasma display that i liked more than a DLP or other form of projection image tv.

i like plasmas, but i think the only reason you should get one is if you absolutly have no other choice than to wall mount. and even then id probably choose an lcd over a plasma.
