I had my entire car stolen when I was younger and I had a somewhat decent system in there. They interviewed me over the phone and asked if I had my stuff LOCKED DOWN, like chained. I said no, after the interview was done being recorded she said that since I did not put chains on it or some other restraining device, they cannot cover it.

Even though they stole my ENITRE car and had all the time in the world to break through ANY chain, they still did not cover it. Insurance companies are just as big as crooks as the theives!!

P.S. I had ALL my receipts!!

I've never had my stuff stolen, but I spoke with the insurance company and state farm requires that you have receipts as well as pictures that THEY take and keep on file.

Beyond that though, the coverage is standard with comprehensive and there is no dollar amount limit.

Insurance companies are businesses, like any business they're out to make money.

If you do tell them you have aftermarket equipment, they might then charge you more.

I have state farm & they replaced my ENTIRE system. I had all my ebay recipts. Im glad some dick stole my stuff cause I ended up with EVEN better stuff than what was stolen! But I also have full coverage I didnt have to pay a dime plus the sent me a 900.00 check for the repairs to damage to my trunk. It only cost me 125.00 to have fixed. I LOVE STATE FARM!
