i am the alarm installer i have just had no money for an alarm in my car. i will have 2 sets of airhorns and a proximity sensor and a glass break sensor. i dont have the money for a alarm with a pager. and those are usually remote start alarms and i have a manual transmission. so it would be kind pointless for me to have that.

i am also thinking of putting a halogen bulb inside of the cab to blind the person or maybe a strobe light.

the viper i have has the option of being remote started but you get it seperatly so you dont have to do it if you dont want to. also you can remote start a manual. just set it up so it will only start when its in neutral. or you could put a bypass switch in but if it fails you car will jump and probably into a home or another car.

i know how to install alarms in manual transmissions. but i dont really want to spend the money on it. i only like to use prestige alarms cause those alarms are the best on the market, the prestige 996a is better than any other alarm. i can get it for like $140 also. so i will see when i get my money from insurance.

Who misinformed you of this falisy? Also most 2-way systems have the option of either just alarm, just remote start or both. Everything in the DEI lineup is this way.

Sorry about your loss though. Glad your ins company is picking up the tab.
