Stuff Got Jacked Yesterday

Well it finally happened, I got my stuff jacked on Tuesday night. I survived the first 4 years of college without a scratch then move into a nice apartment complex to finish my last term and in 3 weeks and they find me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

My car was parked in the reserved portion of parking complex right below my room. Weird thing is I never heard my alarm go off. I know it did because they cut the neg. battery cables. I work until 2 am on Tuesday night (I guess Wed. morning) so they might have already gotten to it before I got off work.

Anyways, they broke both passenger windows, destroyed half my center console, yanked my door panels off and then ripped off my back seat to see if there were subs in there (I had disconnected my trunk latch a long time ago). Fortunately, about a month ago, I started the process of reinstalling everything in my car. They only thing that was actually in my car was my Eclipse CD8445 deck. That's all they got, but it still sucks getting jacked. The deck won't even work for them (not that I want it to). I had the ESN activated and in their rush they cut the cable that connects the random box that was included with my deck. I honestly don't know what that thing does, but I imagine its important somehow.

I am in the process of filing a claim with the insurance. I didn't have any auto insurance to cover my stereo stuff, although when I talked with the agent today they said they are going to match my system. I don't know exactly what that means; I can only hope for the best. I did have comprehensive coverage though, so they will cover the windows, dash and back seat.

Even though there really wasn't anything I can do about this, I want to remind each and every one of you to protect your stuff. Getting your crap jacked sucks. Make sure you have a good alarm and don't do stupid stuff that will land your system in somebody else's ride.

usually they will cover aftermarkets up to a certain amount dependin on company i had automatic 1200 aftrmrkt ins w. nationwide theyll del cover the parts though
I have Farmer's but man that would be really nice. I haven't gotten a definitive answer one way or the other. I hope it turns out well.

i learned insurance (or at least progressive) only covers aftermarket items ATTACHED to the car so in your case you would be good since the deck is attached. so everybody bolt your amps, box, etc. down and get pics

almost sounds like someone that knew what you had. but didn't know you had taken it out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have heard that most thefts are from people you know. Hope that's not what I had happen to me. Very few people knew I had anything even in there. Funny though, I was the only car in this area who got hit. Nobody else in my apartment (200 cars) has gotten broken into since school started. I even went over to the other apartment close by and they haven't had any break-ins either. My 10 year old Corolla is far too normal for them to randomly single just me out I think....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Now that I think about it though, it was an amateur job for sure. They broke out windows instead of using a slim-jim. They broke the passenger windows out, which I would think you would want to do the driver's side to grab the hood release quickly. They didn't know that Eclipse decks cannot be used if the ESN was activated. They cut/left part of the deck behind in my dash.... Kind of sounds like somebody who hasn't done it before huh?

Man, I am getting pissed just thinking about it being somebody I know.

I went through this about 2 months ****in sucks they totally cleaned me out subs and box 2 amps eq deck and power cap and i had full coverage insurance but they wouldnt cover it

good luck with your insurance

it sucks man. my whole stereo got jacked a month ago but at least they did it respectfully and didnt rip anything/break anything. lol.
now your cars marked and they'll be checking back once in a while to see if you got any new shit
Same here they left all the wiring in perfect condition except for one broken rca cable and a broken dome light

i had full coverage on my car, they said it would cover everything

had the receipts and when my car caught on fire, i went down to collect with my receipts and my dad. they said they would give me $200 for my $2000 setup

they said they only give people $100 if they have an aftermarket stereo and that i was lucky to get $200

i said to my dad in front of the lady, its a good thing youre a lawyer (hes not)

she said, let me double check. came back and said, oh, new policy today, youll get your $2000

fukin b!tch

get EVERYTHING in writing and KEEP everything

good luck...

Sorry to har about your ride. I got my system stolen about two weeks ago. Luckily, my insurance company has been nothing but stellar and they're covering the entire thing with no questions.

Now I get to go shopping next week and upgrade a few things. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

That's really creepy. The same thing happened to me about a week ago. Some jackasses took my Eclipse 8445 but left the box that came with it. The box is the power supply for the motorized face plate which means the deck won't work without it.

It sucks that your stuff got jacked and that they ****ed up your car. I was lucky that whoever stole my headunit was clean and didn't break anything but my gas tank lever trying to open the hatch (mine is also disabled so they couldn't steal my bike and sub/amps.

Really crazy though.
