Without actually being there none of can be sure 100% what his intentions were, but it "appears" that he was just trying to cause a scene/create havoc.

And yes, that BBC story is soooooooo obviously biased and only reporting one side of the story. Not surprising. There's so much anti-American sentiment running throughout the UK and Ireland, especially in the media.
