Strong Midbass speakers?

Although, those DD look nice. I'm assuming Music stands for dynamic, meaning I can have max gains(powerwise, not clipping) on a 200 RMS amp and because I'm not playing sine waves, I'd be fine?
correct. and they are conservative in their ratings.

50hz up, in the real world, 200rms is no problems no matter what music you put to them.

i haven't got to try every new 6.5" midbass out there. but i've tried and heard a lot in my day. IF, there is one more potent than the DD, i'd be amazed.

the pics of the W6.5 on DD's site is of the old model. there was a thread on here a couple days ago, i posted pics of the new version. which is a beast over the old version.

disclaimer- for a midbass driver, i rave about this one. i don't have a "DD boner". i'm very picky and when i search for a driver for an intended purpose,....... name and cost don't matter to me. that DD driver surpassed dyn, dls, etc, etc, etc for what i was in search of in a dedicated mid bass driver 6 1/2" size.

Nice, when are they releasing the newest DD's?

Also, that M^ CDT, what is the cost on that thing? I'm at work and I don't have access to any site that falls under 'shopping and auction' thanks to the firewall.

So far, My options considered:

1. Cheap route: Xenon 5.25" with a 150 RMS mid - 100$

2. CDT M6 -

3. Rainbow Germaniums 6.5" 120 RMS mid - 300$ ish

4. DD - 250$-ish?

and anything else.

x2 ive been eyeing them for a while. How do they sound?

The m6 is a very nice driver. At the 155 shipped price very tough to match. The es06 will not be happening as it is just a nicer looking m6 driver, though a couple grabbed them as a pre production speaker. CDT will offer a driver called the m6+ and the es-06+. I personally already have the 06+ which has 15mm of xmax, 1.37" aluminum voice coil, 4 pound motor structure with shorting ring, woven leads, custom solid cast vented frame ect. It is an animal for a 6.75" speaker and when matched to a pair of the new es-02 midrange/tweeters it makes one amazing 2 way setup. If anyone would like pics of the new cdt drivers coming out or a high resolution video of the es06+ in action feel free to contact me by email or AIM (look at sig).

It's down to the RSD 5.25" or 6.5" components, or the M6 CDT's. How is the performance of the CDT between 50 HZ and 250? Any experience from prominent members?

What I mean is, can you actually throw you RMS at them at this rate properly tuned, and not hear distortion between 50-250 Hz?

I really like the low end flexibility of those CDT's, ALOT.

My problem is I'm scared to run a full 200 RMS to these things. I'm going to throw 150 RMS or a bit more to the front stage, but the rear stage is possibly going to recieve more, depending on it's affects during the tuning process. I know Rainbows are tanks, but throwing a bit over 2x the woofers capacity bothers me.

By the way, how is your shopping going? I didn't get to see if you finally got some stuff and whatnot. I hope I helped atleast a little //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I dont really know about tuning amps or anything, but I though you could fully control how many watts you sent to each speaker. Like, send 150 to the front and 100 to the back?

I got to listen to the Polks but I didnt like them very much. At least not compared to the Focal 165a1's that were next to them. I might go with the Rainbow SLC's, but I would like to hear them first. However everything has been put on hold for now. I got into a small accident in my car yesterday that I am going to fix out of pocket so it might be awhile before I get the system put in. Thanks for the help though.
