This is SQL right?!
i know people hate comparing drivers, but how did you like them vs. the fi q's?

they seem to be in the same price bracket, but the fi can handle quite a bit more power (making them more expensive for the whole setup).

Hey, I see you have found your way here too. Stick around and soak up the car audio information //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

xluben,

I didn't have much chance to listen to the FI Q at the roundup. Jim would be your go to guy for that comparison.

I will say this about the BM... for a daily sub in a vented enclosure it *really* give my all time favorite daily sub, the SI Mag, a serious run for it's money if you don't take absolute output potential into account. I did a setup for a friend with 2x 10" BMs vented with an SAX-100.2 to power the pair... and it really suprised me, EASILY outpacing my sealed Mag D2 12" with an SAZ-1500D in output. If I had to choose which one I prefer vented, sound wise, I may even lean towards the BM. Of course... the Mag is king sealed, IMHO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hehe, looks like they're quite different drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i figured this would be a good time to ask, seeing as 3 people that have heard both subs have posted in this thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so........... two ported BM's off 100W each are louder than two sealed Mag's off 750W+ each?

that's pretty amazing to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

would you say that off of less than 1000W each, the BM's are a better choice than the Mag's (in the same install)?

It's not entirely a fair comparison. It was a *single* Mag D2 sealed with 1500 watts vs. a pair of 10" BMs vented with 200 watts each -- the SAX-100.2 was bridged to a 4 ohm load for the pair.

The dual 10" BM system works GREAT with a factory electrical system in a Lancer with a Wal-Mart wiring kit... my sealed 12" D2, on the other hand, melted the fuse holder from that same kit with a 12" long power wire (rear battery install) *laughs*

I would take the BMs in a vented box any day for a lower powered system, they are SO efficient.

ah, i didn't realize it was one mag and two bm's, and that the 100.2 will do 4 ohms bridged.

very true about the stock electrical.

i went to a 1700W mono amp on a stock 80amp alt and have bad dimming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
