Alright...roughly three months ago I put a system in my truck; three 10s(in a premade MTX box) with a 1000 watt amp. The amp is probably a bit under powered, but as I either got all the components to my system for cheap or for free and I am not looking to rattle windows I was not about to complain.
Anyway, for three months everything worked great, no problems what so ever. I loved it, until today. On my way back home from college my amp cut out as it usually does on long drives as it has an auto cut off feature to protect itself when it gets hot. 10 minutes passed, no speakers, 20 minutes and still no sound. I found this odd, but waited till I made it home to check everything out.
When I finally made it home, I checked everything. All the fuses checked out, the power and ground wire to the amp were fine, all speaker wires were in and seated, my remote wire was fine and no smoke or burnt smell was coming from my amp. Also all the lights on my amp showing everything working fine(although I know this does not necessarily mean everything is ok). Nothing seems to be physically wrong.
The only thing I can figure is something went amiss with my amp(maybe it popped or it won't come out of protection mode), but I was hoping someone here might be able to point me in a direction to something I have over looked.
If yall need specifications to what I have I'll have to do a bit of searching because as I said, its a bit of a hodge podge system. Although it was installed correctly installed with correct gauge wire and whatnot.
Tomorrow though I believe I will be able to get my hands on another amp to try, so I will update accordingly. In the mean time any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
