strange issue with new Alipine head unit.....

Hey guys - I'm a total newb and I have never posted here before but I figure you guys can help me out. I searched the web and came up empty handed. This is a really strange issue and I don't know where else to go.

I have a really simple setup in a 2003 Civic that I just bought to commute with. The OEM stereo was crap and I didn't want a "system" per se, just something with bluetooth so I could stream and get phone calls. I picked up a relatively cheap Alpine cde-147bt. I am running this thing with a super stupid Alpine add-on power unit that pulgs inline with the head unit. basically it just gives the head unit a tiny bit more power than what it came with. For a sub I have a powered JL10 in the trunk running off the head units sub pre-out. A entry level set of Alpine components up front in the OEM locations and some entry level Pioneer 6x9s out back.

OK, nothing exciting..... here's the weird issue. Everything works fine, the stereo now sounds like an OEM setup from 2011 instead of 2003 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif However ...... when I stream bluetooth be it from Pandora app (built in the radio) or just the BT stream function I have no subwoofer channel....wtf!! Crazy strange, without the sub you can imagine this already weak setup falls apart and sounds awful. If I listen to the tuner, or a CD its fine.....its just streaming bluetooth. I thought it was my Droid DNA so I tried with the wife's Galaxy S4 and the same crap. I looked through all the sub menus where I can adjust the levels for the different sources but there is nothing out of the ordinary. its not like the sub is low, there is literally nothing coming from the pre-outs during bluetooth mode.

Anyone ever hear of something odd like this?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sorry guys.... That didn't do it. I'm not talking about Bluetooth phone calls, I'm referring to Pandora or bt streaming music. The "sl speaker" setting changes where the phone call audio comes out of. That's if you want the callers vice to maybe come out of a specific speaker or all.

Still stuck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So I think I found it. I can't confirm yet until I pull the unit out tomorrow but I think what I did is I tapped the power antenna lead from the head unit as my remote turn on for the amp instead of the dedicated amp trigger. I am leaning towards this because I can see that the amp for the sub isn't even turning on when Bluetooth is selected. Dumb imo.....this means if you have an electric antenna it goes up and down every time you change sources. The way I move between sources I would surely burn out an antenna. I'll reply back on this thread if that solves my problem.
