Strange Amp Problem

I have 2 amps installed. A 2 channel and a mono amp. I don't have a HU at the moment, so I want to run things off my mp3 player until I can afford one. I have a piece that turns the headphone jack, into RCA outputs. So right now I run 2 RCA's from the mp3 player, to the 2 channel amp. I use the 2 channel amp's RCA outputs to run RCA's to the mono amp. When I do this then play music, the mono amp goes into protection. When I hook the mp3 player strait up to the mono amp, it works perfect.

Anyone have any ideas why this is?

because it puts out watts, not volts... think about it, use some common sense. unless you have none...

So genius, please explain why it works when hooked up to one amp, but when I use the RCA from that amp to run another amp it puts that amp into protection.
