anyone buy stolen car audio equipment? I remember when I first was looking for things to put in, this guy told me he could get me a hookup on some "sounds" in my car for $150. This would include 4 subs, sub amp, some speakers up front and the back, and an amp for those speakers. Knowing the type of guy he is, I know he meant "off the street".

But I been thinking...I could've saved about 500 dollars. Then again most stolen stuff is probably stolen cause of SPL (I'm an SQ person). and the brands he's talking about are probably garbage - like pyle or sony.

I know some of you guys have had your stuff stolen and even if you haven't, you wouldn't want it to be. So how do you guys feel about buying stolen equipment?

Why would you want to support the thief. If you keep buying s*** from him then he will continue to steal.

I think that theft is the biggest problem in car audio. A lot of people want to get into car audio but never do because of all the thieves out there.

Of course 50% of the time it could be prevented but hell I should be able to go to the mall or movies and not have to worry about my car getting broken into and ripped off.

If I ever caught someone breaking into my car and stealing my stereo I would probably never talk to you guys again. I'd be in jail for murder. I would torture that **** for hours till he felt the pain of EVERY person that has had a stereo stolen.

Don't buy, cause if they can't find anybody to reimburse them for breaking in to cars, they'll stop (or atleast slow down)

I bought an amp from a kid i know and found out 3 weeks later it was stolen. Imagine my suprise when the cops came to my door talking about receiving stolen property. Nothing happened though I jsut gave the amp back and the theif had to pay me back as part of his deal he cut.

A lot of it is idiots showing off by blasting through high traffic or residential areas. Save the loud music for the lanes where you can turn it up as much as you could ever desire.
