I have a 96 reg cab chevy p/u with the basic am/fm radio in. I just got a am/fm/cd from a 04 monte carlo to put in the truck so it looks more stock. I am wondering what wiring I am going to have to do? p/u wiring to new radio wiring? thanks

those that deck hav anti theft? does it lock up once power is cut to it x2 the harness for it to..the the best way to go

I don't have the harness for the 04 monte carlo radio. Could you more explain the second post cuz I didn't really understand the x2. thanks

What I am asking basically is if there is a wiring harness the connects to the C2500's harness on one end and connects to the back of the monte carlo radio. If there isn't one available to buy then I would have to solder the 2 harness together.(Buy a monte harness).After the wiring, would my RDS and everything else work on the monte carlo radio? thanks

This is the harness for the 1996 Chevy Silverado C2500:

This is the one that plugs into the radio from an '04 Monte Carlo:

The Monte Carlo harness has a few more wires than the Silverado harness. The harness for the Silverado has connections for power and 4 speakers, and probably nothing else.
