i installed my sub for about a week now. and everytime i folded down my back seat...i would find black foam on top of my box. i didnt know what it was so i just threw it away. today i was setting the gains on my amp..when i saw more black foam. it was right under my rear speakers, so i opened it up...and i found that the foam from around the speakers have been totally blown off. so my question is....if i replace the speakers in the back from my stocks to something else...would this happen again? i dont want to spend money on speakers, only to fine the same result. thanks.

Not if you get decent speakers with treated foam or rubber surrounds.

so new aftermarket speakers will probably withstand all the punishment in my trunk? cuz to change my speakers, i have to go through my trunk...i dont know how it is with other cars cuz i dont usually go looking at people's trunks.

Yes they'll hold up much better as long as you don't send them a clipped signal.

Just for kicks, how much does the pressure from the trunk cause the speakers to move? I wonder if their suspension is being maxed out by the pressure from your subs?

well...if / was the back part of the inside of my trunk....then my box would be like /[] i have my amp mounded on the back of one of the seats..which happens to be in front of the box port. then the 2 speakers are basically right on top of the box. maybe like 5-6 inches away from the top of my box. dunno if that helps.

Just one more reason not to run rear speakers...

if i upgrade my speakers...do i have to get an external amp to power them? or crossovers? or can i just splice the factory wires and just run it off taht?

You can just splice into the factory wiring, but you won't really be doing the upgraded speakers any justice without an amp. I personally think that you will have the same problems with the aftermarket speakers getting beat to hell by the subs but it's your stuff.

Yeah, I will probably just change my front speakers cuz i noticed that the speaker on the drivers side is making this weird noise...probably popped...so im just going to replace those and then just take the rear speakers out.
