Stock Nissan frontier speakers

Alright my buddy has a 4 banger frontier, he has a sony deck, some 10" sub and stock speakers. We have acquired an old 2 channel Phoenix Gold amp and are gonna hook it up. It is really easy to get in the center console where the speaker wires are connected to the deck, should i just clip em and hook run wire from the amp to them, or would that be alright to do?
