You would want the proper dashkit for converting your double-DIN dash opening to accept a single-DIN head unit (which most head units are this size nowadays....)

The kit would be available most anywhere that sells audio gear (Best Buy, Circuit City, certainly any specialized audio shop....shoot, even WalMart carries some now!) and normally run in between $20~$30 or so.

just dont be like my cheap *** ex roomate, came over with his neon and said help me install this HU. i said alright. then come to find out, the plug that came from the HU was missing (can we say stolen property) so we got a replacement one from a stereo shop (aptly named stereo shop) but the wires were really short. so to make it easier i soldered some extra wire on there.

now here is the fun part. i have know this person since before i even knew what car audio was, and he knows that i wont install shit without the proper stuff (dash kit and wiring harness) he comes over with out either of them and expects me to do it, i said hell no and showed him where the tools were and let him use the dmm, so he just chops the stock wire and goes to town *rolls eyes* and then he uses a piece of hard styrofoam to set the head unit on and sticks it all in the dash and calls it a night.
