I can't get the stock head unit in a 2009 Hyundai Accent to turn on.

What might cause this?

I was working on it trying to install a rca adapter connected to the speaker wires. I cut the red wire (constant 12v source) to connect the remote wire, and after doing this, even when i would touch the tip of the red wires, it would still turn on until disconnected.

My freind took the car for a drive to work, (Where i met him to continue working on his car), and now when i touch the red wires, the head unit won't even turn on.

Do you know what might cause this? I connected the 2 red wires permanently again and nothing.

I think I checked any fuse that might do this, but is that the only thing it could be?
