Stock Head Unit Question

all a remote is is a positive line, so if it gets current its on, run a switch in line with what you did, that will act as a (loud) button persay, just remember to turn it off when the car is off

Yeah I got the switch in there already but i want it to turn off when the car is off...

"Acidburn" how would i find the ingnition to hook it up there? & what color wire would it probably be

what you can do is get a test light and find an Accessory fuse opening in your fuse pannel that is hot only when the car ignition is on. and run it from there.

the other option is to pull the stock unit using a test lightprobe to find the wire that has no voltage on it when the car is off but does when on and wire it there

Mat

yea what he said. your ignition will have 3 wires, its not smart to be cutting and adding wires to them, but on many cars there are sometimes accesory fuse spots that will only turn on when the car is on, that is actually how ive rigged up most of my smaller accesories when i do installs.
