Stock gm amplifer?

Some new gm cars have stock amplifers mounted in the trunk to power the speakers. When you add a new hu to a vehicle with this factory amp do you keep using the amp or do you need to bypass it or just disconnect it and run new speaker wire?

In fact if you're keeping the stock speakers, and it's not a Bose system, it's easier just to keep the amplifer. However, if you want to bypass, just identify the input wires from the head unit, identify the output wires to the speakers, pull the plugs, and solder in jumper wires to connect each input to each output.
