Stock Alternator question...

If I was to power an amp for my sub with 3 30a fuses and a separate amp to my speakers with 2 25a fuses be too much for a stock alternator? I'm guessing it's a 70a alternator. I don't know. If this helps, it's a 97 Accord EX. I need some advice, thanks.

depends on the load they will be driving. i run an amp that requires a 90 amp fuse too power a sub bridged (rear) and my mids and highs. all ab power with a 70 amp alt with a good battey and im fine.

yellowtop. i have a 2000 watt amp and even with my high beams on and air conditioning i cant get my voltage below 13.7

Stock 70A? I'd say it'll probably be too much for that, but try it and see before spending money. Depends on how loud you crank it, etc.

And no on the battery idea. A battery is not a replacement for a good charging system.

I used my friends Earthquake TNT at about 600w RMS at 2 ohms to power my 10" W6v2 and my lights were dimming slightly. When I placed his 2 10" Earthquake Tremors in my car with the amp at full power which is about 1000w RMS at 2 ohms, my lights didn't even flicker. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif So is there anyway I can get around buying a new alternator or does anybody know of any reliable online retailer for one? 4Alterstart, Iraggi, Excessive Amperage and Ohio Generators seem to be the common ones. I have no experience with any of them, I've heard good and bad about all of them.

fuse rating is based on the wire

actually the amp install manual said no larger than 90 (has an 80a) and for the wire length the wire could go to 150a.

x2. Got the same setup in my car: Opti2000D, yellowtop, w/ the addition of the Big 3. As loud as I crank things, I don't see any bad things happening to the car. I haven't measured voltage drops yet, though. Will see when I have time.

do not get an alterstart alternator. i had a 180amp alt from them, and i was pulling no more than 100 amps of current maxed out and i would still get horrible dimming.
