Still Keep Sirius?

Well when I got my car, it came with 1 year of Sirius. I am just wondering if there is a way to get an aftermarket HU, and still keep my Sirius? Anyone?

you can buy satallite radio modules for a lot of head units.. i don't know if you can switch your service over from one device to another tho.

I found once I got an iPod adapter I never listened to it, with a good stereo it sounds like crap, I shut it off.

i have lifetime Sirius subscription....so i don't have to worry about it running out...i don't know of any conversions for the factory Sirius antenna...the brain is usually under the console below the radio....you can double check the plugs.....another option is removing the factory Sirius antenna and replacing with one for new receiver...or just add another antennaa somewhere...i've used dash's and rear decks for antennas besides car body ..they are very compact now days .50 cent piece size....

There are many aftermarket head units that are sirius ready. After you get the headunit, you'll need to but the corresponding module which will run you around $75-$100.

It's based on the brand of the aftermarket headunit. So it depends if you purchase a pioneer, sony, etc. The official name for them are "satellite radio tuners".

So I will be able to transfer my current subscription from my stock unit, to an aftermarket?

once you get the headunit someone on here will help you find the right module...i'm using a standard plug in style sirius radio on my Kenwood...so i can unplug it and bring it in my house when i'm not using it in my vehicle....and use it on my home setup....or i can also add a boombox too it for at the lake ...or adapters and move it to other vehicles if needed....

You should be able to. You would just need to call Sirius and give them the serial number of your new tuner I believe. Might want to call up and double check.
