In my experience pyramid makes nice speakers. They don't hiss, crackle, or pop and the sound out of em is clear.

And NO i don't have it faded to the 6X9's actually more forward to get proper imaging.

As for wire, I'm running 10 GA power wire, Iknow it should be more but this power wire only has to carry the 80 amps that my stereo's DEDICATED alt puts out. Thge battery for the stereo is in the hatch with the rest of the system.

if that systmw does 150 that means i can fart around the 175 db mark LOL:D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I've already admitted that the shop may have given me a load of BS. So further arguing using that as the reasoning behid it is pointless.

Callig me tone deaf will last a life time - not likely.

Seeing as how there are different levels of being tone deaf. I will agree with you on this one.

In fact over 90% of the worlds population has some degree of tone deafness.

I will admit I cannot play any instrument because I can't tell the diference between an A key and an A-flat key.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN I CAN"T HEAR DISTORTION, CRACKLING, or any other musical deformation. I know what my music (BLINK 182, BROOKLYN BOUNCE, DR. DRE) should sound like.

So now music quality is based not on the actual clarity of the music, but based on it not "crackling or distorting"??? Someone take the crack pipe away from this kid

Clarity is one of the most important thing when I considered what I bought.

When I bought the pyramids, I compared them to some JBL's, Pioneers, Jensen, and many other brands priced under $75.

When placed in my car, the pyramids had the best sound for the dollar. And seeig as how distortion is the #1 cause of stereos lacking clarity I'd say that is a vaild arguement.

I refuse to base my judgements of how a speaker sounds like on how it sounded on the demo board. The demo board is no where near a car audio set-up. The rooms are designed to "amplify" the sound from the speaker so it sounds louder. The demo rooms are also "tuned" so that anything played in them sound "bassier" than it really is, this is because "MOST", and I stress MOST, people look for system that put out bass like there is no tomorrow. (don't tell me you were NEVER, EVER impressed by the car that just drove by and you could feel the bass from over 20 feet away.)

Instead I base how a speaker sounds on how it sounds when installed. And when the pyramids sounded good in my custom enclosure running off my 280 watt kenwwod amp, I decided they were a good deal. Now just because they sounded good with my set-up does not mean that they will sound good with yours, and it definately doesn't mean that a better pair won't sound better. It just means that, at the time, they were a good speaker.

I will argue to the death until you prove me wrong. To prove me wrong you'l have to show me how these speakers do not sound clear in my set-up. Just because the last time you heard a pyramid speaker it was one their bottom line models, being seriously overpowered on a demo board it sounded like crap does not mean that all pyramids will sound like crap in all installations.

With the proper install anyone can make a stock speaker sound better than a RF. The same applies to all car audio equipement.

LOL.... impressed with a system you can hear from 20feet away? I was into that shit when I was ****in 17yrs old and bumped so phuckin hard I knocked an old ladies china cabinet down. Now I am impressed when I do not hear jack crap comming from the car and it is cranked to the max. As for a HIGH end pyramid? LOL your joking! go back to the pawn shop and buy some more shit. Want to prove to me how clear an dbad *** you are? Show up at a competition and try to hold a candle to anyone!

When I am done with my system I may consider going to some competitions. Until then the system that I have now will have to do.

I do prefer names like JBL, Alpine, Pioneer. And I realize that they make substantially better speakers, I've known this for many years, well before I knew f the forum. (and no I don't know how long this forum has been around, and it doesn't matter. Even whenthis forum is long-gone, which will happen sometime, there will be others. And Pyramid will still be around because people will continue to buy them

Alaxan - YOU GOT ME INTO THIS.

Prove to me that my Pyramids cannot possibly sound clear and I will believe you.

Pyramids are designed and produced by hand. Can you say that about RF, PG, ALPINE. I think not. These guys have to deal with sales high enough that they would have to employ 100,000+ people just to build the voice coils. Not many products out there are still produced by hand. Most are done on a computerized assembly line. Computer controlled arms take part one and connect it to part two, etc.

When I first went to try out the pyramids I had much the same reaction as you guys, "Pyramid, why would you even carry that!!". But once installed I realized that they carry them because they do meet certain minimum standards (much higher than most stock).

Pyramids are designed, manufatcured and sold cheap. WHY? because even someone with a $10,000/year income shouldn't have to deal with the fallacies of a stock system. After all, and I know you'll agree with me on this one, Most stock systems leave a lot to be desired, even compared to "CHEAP" brand names

You guys have succeeded in telling me that you think my choices in car audio is crap.

So apparently the equipment I like is crap too.

Well I like Alaxans system.

get it, got it, GOOD

Steven.....your choices may have been poorer choices, but here is the deal. To make claims that have been made and to honestly beleive in pyramid as a "high quality" and "crystal clear" speaker and that you are running @ 150+ Db.......just a little bit WAY too far fetched to be true. Ok so you admitted finally that the shop pulled a fast one on you and you are no where near 150Db. Fine, that said done and over with. Pyramid hand made? Not in their wettest dreams! It would be IMPOSSIBLE even in a thai sweat shop to make the amout of speakers they produce and sell them as cheap as they are and be sold for the prices they are sold at! IF you want to see some hand made quality stuff? I would be happy to direct your attention to a web site or two, but when you see the price for one speaker it would bring a tear to your eye as it does mine.....and I make $100k/yr. It is nto about knocking the system you have, but its real capabilities not being near what claimed to be.

As I said. It was a shop that told me that. And seeing as how at the time I had no way of proving/disproving them, I went with it. As soon as someone pointed out that it was wrong I changed my claims. I am open minded. But bashing me and my system because you thought I deserved it was just plain arrogant.

YOU started this arguement. I still claim that the pyramids were the best buy for my money.

And I would like to know - At about what Db does vision start to blur?

That's what happens at 3/4 volume on my system.

I can be open minded when people give me a chance, but insult me and I blow.

And maybe I was out of line by saying that it's almost live-concert like. But everysingle word comes out clear. I've read that to really hear the distortion of your system stand about 20-30 feet away and listen, with a door open of course. At full volume you can still hear every word clear.
