When I am done with my system I may consider going to some competitions. Until then the system that I have now will have to do.
I do prefer names like JBL, Alpine, Pioneer. And I realize that they make substantially better speakers, I've known this for many years, well before I knew f the forum. (and no I don't know how long this forum has been around, and it doesn't matter. Even whenthis forum is long-gone, which will happen sometime, there will be others. And Pyramid will still be around because people will continue to buy them
Alaxan - YOU GOT ME INTO THIS.
Prove to me that my Pyramids cannot possibly sound clear and I will believe you.
Pyramids are designed and produced by hand. Can you say that about RF, PG, ALPINE. I think not. These guys have to deal with sales high enough that they would have to employ 100,000+ people just to build the voice coils. Not many products out there are still produced by hand. Most are done on a computerized assembly line. Computer controlled arms take part one and connect it to part two, etc.
When I first went to try out the pyramids I had much the same reaction as you guys, "Pyramid, why would you even carry that!!". But once installed I realized that they carry them because they do meet certain minimum standards (much higher than most stock).
Pyramids are designed, manufatcured and sold cheap. WHY? because even someone with a $10,000/year income shouldn't have to deal with the fallacies of a stock system. After all, and I know you'll agree with me on this one, Most stock systems leave a lot to be desired, even compared to "CHEAP" brand names
