Alright...I finally got to do everything as far as my "review" of this amp. I gotta say, I love it! All this shit talk about how people won't run these for this reason and that...fvck that. These new amps are amazing and worth every dollar you pay for it, whatever that be.

Now the first test: I re-metered with the TL @ 50 hz. After my Second Skin install (which you can see in my SS thread) I did a 143.8 on the TL with the RD 5750.1. Now...I am NOT comparing this to the 5750! The RD puts out 3200 @ 2 ohms, and the Stetsom is 4200 @ 2 ohms. Impossible to compare by stated numbers.

Anyhow, I went from a 143.8 to a 145.2 with NO changes except for the amp. Same box, seats down, legal at the dash, 4 RD Sonance 12s":

150a alt, 2 Batcap 2000s, 1, 100 ah, 900cca Mercedes battery.

Voltage w/ 50 hz tone: 120.6

Amps w/ 50 hz tone: 25.7

RMS: 3099.42

Impedence rise: 4.692 ohms

All-in-all, I think this is pretty impressive. Especially since I got my car over a 145 and just that makes me happy. This is not a comp. car, but I just wanted to try and get my car over a 145. That alone is pretty hard in a CLK from the trunk.

Here's vid of a little movement. It could have come out better, but, oh well.

wtf the box's made of?

i'm glad you're happy with your score. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I would expect more out of 4000watt and almost the equivalent of 2 18inch of cone area. Those cars must be hard to get loud

Did you notice any sound quality differences by going from the RD to the Stetsom? Granted, I know you are set up for SPL, but I want some reassurance that the Stetsom is good for daily music in addition to sine wave burps.

x2

good to see some actual information other than "yeah it sounds louder". good work

Sealed bro, keep that in mind;)

Once again, I don't think you could say he is set up for spl with a sealed box;)

Glad you got a good improvement. How does the amp work for daily listening at high levels? I've always been weary of getting a Stetsom amp because it just seems like it'd be impossible to cool properly with such a small heatsink. Burps wouldn't be a big deal, but 30+ minutes at high volume is what I'm worried about.

Sick man... I tell ya I use to hate stetsom until I got one and now I will never go back to any brand
Yeah, man. I sort of looked at it as taking a chance because no one else really runs one, but I'm sure glad I took that chance.

Very hard. BMWs and Mercs are designed to keep sound out and the way they are built makes the aucstics amazing, but loudness is hard to show up on a meter. It definitely "sounds louder" than a 145 to me.

SQ wise I think sounds about the same as the RD. Still very clean sounding, and no, I'm not setup for SPL. That was covered for me by Kman. It's a sealed box and WAS about 5.927 cubes. I cut it down last night because the speakers were moving too much because the box was a little big. Still sounds great and this is what I would definitely call an SQL setup.

As far as daily, it's just fine thus far. I rarely drive this car, so I havn't put it to a "real" daily test yet. I don't blast my stereo for long periods of time, but driving home one day which takes me about 20 min, I had my volume on 24 out of the 29 that I will take it up to. I checked when I got home, and it was warm, but not blazing.
