Stetsom 10KD Amp testing "2800 watts at 9volts!!!!"

I have four runs of 1/0 in the car.

Did some more testing today on 3 - 16 volt batteries.

Start DC volts.....17.00v

Drop DC volts.......12.4v

AC volts................84

AC Amps................78

Watts..........6552

Imp rise......1.07ohms

I realized after I did my testing that I never recharged my batteries, so I'm sure I can get more power once I charge them. Will do some more testing in a couple of days.

I hope Jeff can also clarify that the 10KD is the exact same amp as the 7KD with the exception

of DUAL power / ground inputs.

hey guys, there are several factors that could be in action when the test was done, I don't see anything wrong with the test, ITS CLEAN POWER, just trow in an oscilloscope, and you will see.

Regarding the 7K2D being the same as the 10KD they are the same board design, but there are several things different between them! one of the factors is that the bank of caps @ the end of the amp was relocated under the copper bus bar of the toroidal`s this improved on energy transfer. there are lots of factors that make a diference betwen bouth amps, only in competition comditions you are able to see them. At finnals we did several tests on several cars and the 10KD was always a 0.3 to 0.6 dB higher then the 7K2D.

Dual Inputs=more efficient energy transfer and the Link Capability added.

The amp is a modded 7k board that made over 6500 watts or whatever with 16v batteries that were not fully charged. We don't even know what type of batteries and the age of those said batteries. I haven't seen anything publised stated a 12v rating on the 10kd. It did make the 6552 at a drop of 12.4volts so what would it make if he had the battery support to maintain close to 16-18volts. I say get batteries charged up and add a few and then do the test again. I think this amp shines in a competition setting mostly. Specs from site. And of course those are bench results.

x2 that is some huge voltage loss, especially for the output watts acheived.

i never liked stetsom. the whole theory that they "shine in competition setups" just makes me think its peak power and only good for burps. reminds me of sound digital.

The problem with this test is he tested it at .25ohms which he now knows not to do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif So people know no less than .5ohms on 10k's for competition. The nominal impedance is some of the the problem with the voltage drop and power you're seeing. Amp is less efficient at .25ohms then at .5ohms and at .5ohms the power will be about the same but with less consumption of power.
