stereo or mono?

what would be the pros and cons to either setup in stereo or mono? for instance i have a pair of jl 12w6v2 dual 4ohms. They are each wired to 2ohms for stereo testing and/or i had them wired together at 2 ohms to run in mono setup testing, i wanted to test them in each mode to hear the quality, because i am more into sq than spl. the amp i am testing is a old school ppi art 1200.2 the specs for would be:

2 x 300W @ 4 ohms (0.02% THD)

2 x 600W @ 2 ohms

1 x 1200W @ 4 ohms bridged

so which would you have it at stereo or mono? more output going with mono or 2 channel stereo?, and all specs are at 12v. rating.

also i have tried each sub wired at 4ohms mono each/sep. then wired them to 2 sep. ppi art amps a600.2 which each sub got 600w @4ohms mono. would these be less stress to get full output since using 2 sep. amps? i guess i'm trying them in different setups for daily driving to get better sq sounds, before i wrap up everything in the trunk.

Nice gear salty.

2 ohm stereo = 4 ohm mono

It's really the same thing.

heat is produced as a byproduct of the power produced.

same power = same heat.

either way you're getting say, 1200W, so the heat is the same, THD is the same, etc.

everything is the same except one way is mono and one is 'stero' although in reality there is little or no stereo separation between channels below about 125Hz, whih means subs are always mono anyway.
