Stereo is draining battery when parked

Alright guys, I'm at a loss and need some advice. I have a sound system in my truck, it's been there for many years without this issue until I purchased a new deck. With this deck if I leave my truck parked for a week my battery is dead, which isn't good since I leave town for work a lot. I confirmed it to be the deck by leaving it unplugged the last time I left town, came back and it was fine.

I tried just removing the face plate, still killed the battery. I double checked the wiring to make sure the power and ignition power weren't mixed up, so no power without the ignition on. I tested my REM line at both amps and neither are on without the ignition. Any suggestions on what it could be aside from just the deck being poorly designed? Anything I can do other than pulling the fuse and having to redo all the settings every time?

The deck is a simple single DIN, no GPS or anything, it's a JVC KD-AR959BS. Im pretty sure the previous deck that didn't give me issues was an Alpine, I only upgraded so I could have Bluetooth and hands free calling.

Thanks.

it could be wire touching metal but when that happened to me i found out alt went out and was draining batt. as it sat.. disconnect power wire from alt., ground too see if batt is holding charge better with that unhooked after 24 hrs.. if so u need alt..

You're saying it could be my alternator? I tested that out, tested the voltage at idle and with a full load (everything possible on), I also tested the voltage drop on the positive and negative sides of the system, everything was good.

I'll try that out when I get also chance though, thanks.

I did have the same issue with a Honda Civic..Bad Alt..and it would drain my batt over night..Went to five A.Zones for warranty, till I found one that wasnt a Dud.Tested each one before I left the Parts store.Chitty Run of them I take it.

Check to see if the deck has a fuse and see if it's partially burnt or even the main battery fuse.

It would not be the ignition wire, it will be the battery wire causing the issue.

Test each fuse with a test light or volt meter to see if any are pulling power when they are not suppose to be
