Exactly why I will be putting the pair into a 2cube or slightly smaller enclosure. 1 cube sealed is the recommended volume even before displacement. A mag has been used in down to 0.5 ft^3 with some polyfill and still functioned properly. I never said I am run the 1500D at 0.5ohm to ditch the subs, I am more than sure I will be happy running it at 2ohm and giving each 400w. Nick said the mags sound great with even as low as 200w I believe so I am not worried about power, just figured if it is doable I will try and see how much I can get to them without maxing them. I have yet to run a ported box or anything bigger than a 12, much of the reason I was happy to see these new mags, geared right up my ally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Should go well with my SR6500 components too which from what I understand are geared towards SQ and not for getting loud. I don't think if I give them 800w each that they will be falling apart, its still under their 1000w RMS rating. I just like to know my options.Sounds to me like you guys are missing the point of the new mags... They are geared 100% towards sound quality. Getting every bit of power out of your amplifiers to these subs will not be needed, and they probably won't like the extra power depending on the application.
They are also recommended for sealed applications only.
I'm still looking forward to pre-ordering these subs even if I am missing the point of them lol. Its either these or a JBL WGTi, Icon, IDQ or Polk SR subs all going sealed and preferably the smaller the enclosure the better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
