stereo integrity subs

little more dedicated reading can be done over at http://www.stereointegrity.com/forums for those interested.

new Mags should be shipping fairly soon and I believe its sometime in the fall expected for the new BM's but there are no dates set in stone as it stands. Current reviews both subs are looking very very promising, least for most looking for a sealed and more SQ oriented setup.

God I've been waiting for the mags for months. I hope they come out soon, the anticipation is mounting...
2 SI mags and 1500-1800 watts I think will be my dream daily driver substage...
thats exactly what I am planning on building //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif got a Sundown 1500D and just waiting on the pre-order for the mags and will get a pair when they are available. I sure hope they live up to what everyone is saying //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

are you going to be running them at 2-ohms off that 1500?
At the least that is what I will be doing, only gonna give them 400 each though, but I may sneak it down to 0.5ohm and see how it likes it and how my voltage does. I got 2 batteries but only a 110amp alt, hoping to upgrade to a 200amp in the future.

From what I've read 400 will get them going. But if you have the support for running the 1500 at 0.5 then why not, right? Might as well try it out. Are they still saying 4-6 weeks for delivery after the pre-order comes out?

Yes I believe it will be 4-6 weeks after you put in your order on the pre-order. Again though its all pretty tentative waiting on the subs to arrive to Nick's shop and such and then ship out directly to the end user. These should be sweet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I can't wait. Couldn't get the BL10'', JL 1000/1, and Sundown 100.2 to fit properly in a standard cab ranger, but the new mag will work no problem. Sealed box FTW.

i'm still looking for my dream system. maybe i'll get a little closer with this new build. what's holding me back is components and head unit. i have enough "satisfying" subs lying around. it's just alot funner to do boxes for subwoofers. i like doing other aspects of audio installation also, but i only have a workshop. too much crap to fit the truck in there. anyway, here's what i can hopefully get done before the end of august.

new head unit: i have the jvc avx-1 and have actually been very impressed, so i think i'll get the new jvc chameleon version.

front stage: need to take a serious look at new components. the alpine type r's i have were crap brand new and haven't improved with age:crap: looking at polk components. heard some from boston that i liked. pondered learning more about an active front stage.

front amp: have an xtant a4004. probably gonna keep that forever. it's been through many vehicles with me.

subs: gotta sell my alpine type r's, RE MX, and a couple of cerwin vega 8's, and then get 4 dayton ref 8's.

sub amp: i have a precision power pc2350. it's enough power to do anything i'll ever need. i really like it, but it is a power hungry pig. i've tossed around the idea of selling it and getting a more efficient class d.

IIRC Nick told me yesterday the new BMs will be around $159 - as there was a bit of increase in materials cost from the $149 announcement.
I just heard it last night at low volume levels (didn't want to bother the neighbors) and the sound was very similar to an old Mag in a small sealed enclosure - about the same way Nick had described it before I got to listen to it.
same thing i heard

I saw a picture of them on here somewhere and to me they looked like some cheap *** chinese subs. I'm not saying I'm not going to play around with them. They don't have the same *** appeal as the older models did, thats for sure.

Sounds to me like you guys are missing the point of the new mags... They are geared 100% towards sound quality. Getting every bit of power out of your amplifiers to these subs will not be needed, and they probably won't like the extra power depending on the application.

They are also recommended for sealed applications only.
