Stereo Integrity BM update

Nick, have you ever tried SpeaD for modeling? I was considering getting this as an economical tool for playing with parameters but I don't know anyone who has it. Just wondering how intuitive it might be to use.

we use sw for all our stuff.

new bm looks interesting and seems to have a very good advantage small applications.

solidworks, i also use 3Dmax if needed because the max render algorithm is much better than photoworks that comes with solidworks. but sw is great for the tech drawings and raw engineering. it also has great FEA plug-ins that give you anything from thermal testing, magnetic, stress, strength, all that good stuff.

Pretty expensive suite then? How about computation time, is it pretty fast or do you have to grab a sandwich each time you change a design?

Nice rendering of the TC-3000 BTW.

I haven't used SpeaD. When I got the point where I was modeling entire motors and needed to send technical drawings of the entire motor to build houses I started right with Alibre. In the beginning for me it was just modified top plates and pole pieces of standard parts so in-depth drawings of the entire motor weren't needed. The full version of Alibre rocks, but the trial is pretty kick ass if all you want to do is model.

Oh, I built a box for the BM and fired it up today in my daily driver. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Very much so. It sounds exactly like I was anticipating it to sound. The neat thing is that the final version is going to be a tad smoother, which is always a good thing.

I'll come by tomorrow morning and let you listen to it. I also need to pick up that extra Mag that I left at your place earlier this week (it better not be blown!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif).

If the Mag v4 and Mag v3 were to have *** and have a baby, that's what the BM sounds like. A wide and short baby. Which is the complete oposite of Simon's head.

Excellent - can't wait to hear this puppy... much less the production model!

The Mag is safe... for now!
