Steg or audison

Jans move to Steg it seems was more because of sponsorship- just happens to be when Audison and Focal split ways in terms of distribution.

The new LRx is miles better than the old thats in her car. The new LRx is so nice its pushing for revision of the VRx as its pretty close.

And Steg is has more of a commercial grade amplifier build than Audison, mosfet designs...the fit and finish on Audisons are up there with the best, flawless powdercoat and great footprint and wire networking design. I'm not saying they are not great or high end, but its more of a big power offering ala Arc SE.

Of which i think i like the SE at this price bracket vs Steg K's which appear more overdimmensioned and use of more pricey bipolar output devices- which should be expected at this $ of an amplifier.

Who is carrying Steg in the US. Has anyone priced the Steg stuff it appears you better have some deep, deep pockets if you plan on running the Steg. It is in the Sinfoni, Audison Thesis/VRx price range. How deep lets take a look. Most of us could run the Q Series and some of the K series. You can get the LRx cheaper and can go to the Audison VRx series for the price of the Q stuff if you get a good deal. Hopefully dealer prices are cheaper than what I have listed.

If you are a "how much is this watt of power costing me" kind of guy probably want to look elsewhere.

I am not knocking Steg but before people go crazy thinking they are going run out and stock up on Steg check the prices first. Just because you run a certain amp does not mean you are going to win a SQ comp.

most of what youi said is true but there is a market for the steg q series especially i have a fair few of them insted of charge full rrp i drop it by about a 1/4 to 1/3 depending on item and ppl get get gear for reasonable money and i get my stuff for nuttin

also the fact that the new k series in steg can be tuned hooked up to the computer and give you live data feeds and lock it to your head unit and you can strap them for more power these amps are not for the fainthearted also the advertised power ratings are not as high as they really are most of them ad abot another 50-100 watt to the rms figure to get a true rep of the power they are no doubt for ppl looking for function over form as they arent all bling bling they are just king king i have not seen anything close here in oz but we dont have access to what you guys in the states do we are only an island

I would not consider Audison, ARC, Zapco, Zed Audio or Sinfoni Bling Bling if that’s what you are implying. The high-end stuff 99% of the time is function over form, which it should be. I agree everything that I have read about these Steg amps they are top notch. I just would not say they are better than Audison, ARC, Zapco or Sifoni. I think they are all pretty close to being on a level playing field. Until you get into the super high-end stuff like a Audison Thesis or Steg MSK kind of territory which I would consider on level playing field with the Thesis a slight advantage looking at the components used and craftsmanship.

I was not trying to say Steg was not at extremely high level. I was trying to give a warning before people thought they where going to run out and buy it like a mainstream brand. That's all nothing more nothing less

IN THAT CASE I AGREE THEN AS YOU SAY IN THE TOP FEILDS they are all fairly similar but the thing going for the new k comps id the tuning freindly micro prossesor that makes tuning up to 12 amps at once a breeze but the dollers for them is a bit to choke down however i think that its worth it having used steg i love the sound they produce and ive used audison on the same vehicle and they werent as clear or crisp as the steg but it comes down to what your own ea likes
