steering wheel control help

i have a '98 grand cherokee with the infinity system. i got a pioneer DEH-1900MP head unit for christmas and wanted to install it. i got the wiring harness and all that jazz, but my dad is flippin out about the steering wheel controls, i baught an adapter from custom sounds but it does not plug into my new head unit, is there any other way to keep the steering wheel controls with the head unit???

it doesn't plug into the head unit. If you don't know what you're doing, have a pro install it. It takes some know-how.

my mistake, its not swi-x its the swi-ps

You're headunit is not compatible with the PS. It will work with the swi-x though.

x2 just a fyi it works off reading the remote that comes with the HU, and thats how you set it up.

ok, i got a new head unit, pioneer deh-p4900ib, this will work with my adapter, that aside, i hooked up the wire harness and what not, it has power, but i have no sound, could it be because i need to rewire the whole car because of the infinity amp?

Do you have power ground and remote ran to the amp? And then speaker wires from the amp to the speakers?

No just hook up the remote wire on the harness, should be good to go.
