Steel wall in trunk

In my 98 Diamante there is a steel wall between my trunk and the inside of the car i think im losing alot of pressure because of it. I have an arm rest in the backseat that folds down and im thinkin of drillin an 8 inch hole there to let some pressure come in the car do u think this is a good idea i hear bmw's have this problem as well

i've done that before. i made mine to match the rear seat opening. this is was 1990 Chrysler 5th Ave I owned back in 2004.

LED's in the port that varied with sub output.

the difference was HUGE. i recommend doing it.
