static?

So when the volume is at zero you can hear static.

I have a 18 Gauge Remote Wire from fuse box under dash to processor in trunk then 16 gauge remote wire from processor to amp

I have a 5 channel amp that goes to all my speakers and then powers my subs (Power & Ground 6 Gauge both to battery)

I have a 6 Channel Sound Processor (previously had 16 gauge power and ground to amp power and ground connection, i replaced this with 12 gauge power and ground both to battery and now the static is louder!)

Any ideas? Some people say ground at battery is best which i did while others say ground should be to chassis. I grounded all to battery (my amp ground is around 2 feet to battery and processor ground less than 4 feet to battery also). Any ideas are appreciated!

Are your power wires near your rca/speaker wires?

If so move them.

Keepn them apart.

If your not running a lot of power you can use the frame for grounds.

But if you battery is close to you amps then you can run the wires to the battery.

What brand of deck?

Pioneers have a pico fuse issue. If you have pioneer google it and it will most likely fix the problem

I wouldn't think the problem is power wire by rca as with my experience it never affected it until well over 1k

Make sure your grounds are good clean and tight

Processor power will not affect the rcas

You need in the area of 100A to start to make static like that

A poor connection will, do you have any auxiliary connected to your deck or something that gets power from a different point?

I had static from my ps2 when it was connected to my touchscreen. I tried ground loop isolators line filters everything, it went away the second I disconnected it

what model processor is it?

it is an AudioControl LCC6i Processor and I have nothing connected to the factory head unit it has bluetooth and a hard drive that I play my music off of so no wired connections there.

Today I cleaned up my wiring in the trunk so its not messy and rerouted it so no power anything except for remote wire is near any audio wires, sanded down where my battery was grounded and grounded all my connections to that bolt instead of the battery's terminal. There is less static now but it is still there. I also ordered 9" rca cables as my processor is right next to my amp and i currently am using 3 ft cables rolled up (even if it does not change anything it will at least clean things up in the trunk).

I read on another site that if gains are set too high they can cause a constant noise at zero which is what I have. My processor has gains as well as my amp. Processor gains I have at 50%ish and amp gains 75%ish but for the subs processor gains are at 80%ish as well as amp. Could I lower the gains for sub and use bass boost? A lot of people say to leave bass boost at 0 or as low as possible

Try it and see if lower gains solves the noise issue.
It made it better having gains low but now my music isn't loud enough and it's still there just less noticeable when I unplug the rca cables it's gone so the problem is preamp and the rca itself is good because I plugged both ends in and still no static. head unit is factory and untouched so it can't be that because there was no static before the install. My processor has 3 different settings internally for grounding "ground" isolated "200 ohm" I tried all 3 and no difference. I also tried the grounding an rca cable trick also did nothing. Now my last theory is could it be my remote wire that I'm running along side the speaker wires going to the processor? Is that enough power to throw off a signal?
