Static noise from speakers when turning off accesories

im sorry When i ran the rca directly out of the dash the spikes where still there. and as well when i ran the ground directly through the outside of the vehicle it still did it.

well, if you ran ground wire from the amp to the bat outside the car, and also ran the rcas from amp to hu and you can see that they are solid, then i would tend to think its the hu. do you have a ipod or other type of player? You could use it to send signal to the amp thru headphone to rca type plug connection. That will at least tell you if its the hu or amp

first of all when i unplug the rca it stops and when i pluged in the ipod it didint make the noise.

so what should i do then, cause this is the second hu that i have tried and it makes the same noise

try replacing the rcas with some decent new ones, if that doesnt help, and you grounded the hu case to the rcas and the hu to the bat then it just leaves the hu as the problem. Is it newish that its warrantied? if not, try another hu, even if you buy one, test it out and return it..walmart is good for that... And you can see if its the hu, or the wires.. if a new hu makes it better, or new rcas...

cheap rcas can short out inside the terminals or in the wire itself.

something else i observed when i connect the hu directly from the battery ground and leave the ant unpluged it makes engine noise and alt whine but as soon as i connect the ant it all goes away...

Normaly no, but if you did the hu/rca ground, then it is grounding thru the rcas/amp.

Aslo about the ant. Do you mean the antenna wire off the hu or the ant. plug for the actually ant. like the big black round wire?

well, sounds like thats the cause of your ground loop. They make a gadget for that..google it and see. Also, your antenna wire may be grounding out somewhere.

Actually, it may be the reverse. He may not have any ground on his antenna and it is grounding itself through the HU.
